Mosagaat is kleurloze tot melkachtige, doorschijnende kwarts. De kleur wordt veroorzaakt door dendrieten. Dit zijn kleine plantaardig aandoende, mosachtige insluitsels.
De belangrijkste vindplaatsen van mosagaat zijn India, China, VS en incidenteel in Zuid-Afrika en Brazilië.
Het standaardje hoort erbij.
